TDOT to Hold I-440 Reconstruction Informational Meeting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 to provide details on the upcoming I-440 Reconstruction project in Davidson County.

The proposed project will address deteriorating pavement along the entire I-440 corridor. The project also includes removal of the grass median to increase safety, and new auxiliary lanes at three interchanges. The construction of new noise walls, repair of existing noise walls, lighting upgrades, and enhanced ITS features will also be part of the project.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the TDOT Region 3 Complex, 6601 Centennial Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37243. There will be a presentation followed by a question and answer session. Representatives from TDOT will be present to answer questions on any aspect of the project.
TDOT is using the Design-Build method to deliver the I-440 Reconstruction Project. Currently, four Design-Build teams are preparing proposals that will include final design of the project, plans for how it will be constructed, and a bid amount. TDOT has provided the teams with three construction options, two of which include segmented closures of I-440.

The Design-Build teams will submit their final proposals later this month. TDOT hopes to award the I-440 Reconstruction Project contract in August, with preliminary construction work beginning this fall.
